We all know good things come in small packages - we just didn’t realise how good, until Maggie put her beautiful non-alcoholic Sparkling Ruby Cabernet into a piccolo bottle. With the very same bead of Champagne and mouth feel of a good wine that we have come to know and love in its bigger sibling, the piccolo is a delicious option for Summer barbecues, picnics, or tucked into an esky to enjoy at the beach - just add a straw! Maggie Beer Products has been in recent discussion with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) about food labelling and food provenance. The ACCC brought to our attention that the labels on four product lines could mislead consumers into thinking they were made in the Barossa Valley. You’ll be thinking my life is one continual musical happening and as music is every bit as important to me as food I seem to find lots of opportunities to indulge both loves. This one was the Australian Chamber Music Festival that actually finishes today but I was only privy to three wonderful nights at the beginning of the 9 days and how I would have happily stayed on for a whole week more of concerts as the programme each day was so rich I would have revelled in every moment of it but my schedule just won’t allow it. Dinner at Nomad….. buzzy restaurant in Surry Hills with all the scale of the warehouse it once was felt right from the first moment sitting at the bar right in front of the kitchen augured well from the first moment until I realised I’d left my scarf in the taxi; not any scarf but a beloved one I’d bought in Paris in a very extravagant moment. Desparately trying to phone the taxi company to no avail I had to put it into context and let it go and give myself over to how lucky we were just to be here and relax into it. Read the rest...
